Taman Negara national park is the home to a variety of bird species and animals and steamy plants and trees. A popular attraction of this park is Mount Tahan, and it is one of the difficult mountains to climb. Mount Tahan also happens to be the highest mountain in the entire peninsular Malaysia and a popular tourist attraction. There are numerous caves, streams and waterfalls in this nature park.Taman Negara National Park is a great place for wildlife adventure tours. The natural beauty and amazing wildlife at the park are a real pleasure for the people. Orang Asli is the famous tourist attraction of Taman Negara. These are the native people who at a halt live in the jungle, hunting and fishing in the river. We learn how they make fire and use a bow-pipe for hunting. And of course, we can try those ourselves. It is very nice to have seen these people, but we are under the impression that the tourists are spoiling it. |

Wide varieties of food are available but it is little much expensive.Take plenty of water and some snacks. Except trekking with a day guide, it is not prudent to eat jungle fruits or drink from any water source. |

Taman Negara has a tropical climate with daily temperatures from 25-37°C. Annual rainfall is 2260mm. particularly during the north-east monsoon from October to January (about 270mm/mth). Then flooding might arise in large tracts of the rainforest. March is the driest month (50mm/mth).March to September is a good time to visit the park not only is it drier part of the year, it also the main propagation season for most species in Taman Negara. At the moment, Taman Negara is open for public through out the year. If you plan to visit during the monsoon, please check the weather and river water level conditions. |

The unit of currency is the Malaysian Ringgit indicated (RM) which is equivalent to 100 sen. Coins are issued in the denominations of 1 sen, 5 sen, 10 sen, 20 sen and 50 sen. Currency notes are in RM1, RM2, RM5, RM10, RM50 and RM100. Foreign currency and travellers cheques can be converted to Malaysian Ringgit at banks or authorised money changers throughout the country. |
